1 subtract （影片時間0:42）
這個字是減掉、去掉的意思，就像影片中所說的戒掉壞習慣就可以用 subtract a bad habit，如果要說把...從...去除的話就要用 subtract sth from sth

deprive 這個字是剝奪的意思，特別是指剝奪別人需要或喜歡的東西，例如剝奪用水的權利或是剝奪自由等等，用法為 be deprived of sth

那些難民已經沒有食物供給四天了。
4 guarantee （影片時間3:02）
guarantee這個字基本上是保證、擔保的意思，有名詞及動詞的形式，所以在當名詞時也就可以衍生出商品保固、抵押品的意思，而我們常聽到的產品保固中就可以說 under guarantee
This cellphone is still under guarantee.
這支手機還在保固中。
Having a fortune money is no guarantee of happiness.
擁有很多錢不保證幸福。
5 give it a shot （影片時間3:12）
每次說要試試看什麼東西時，總是說 I want to “try”….嗎？是時候換個說法了！除了 try 跟 give it a try 之外，還有一個非常道地的用法就是 give it a shot 唷！shot 原本的意思是射擊、開槍，所以對某事物開一槍的意思，就引申用來指試試看去做某件事囉！另外，如果說 give it one’s best shot 的話，意思就是會試著做得比任何人都好的意思！
It’s not easy to win the game, but I will give it my best shot!
要贏得比賽不容易，但我會盡全力試著做到最好！
